Happy New Years!!!

So last night was a rough night....talked to the doctor this morning and she said our little man took a step backwards.  They did another x-ray this morning, and things looked a little worse.  :(  She said that the meconium looked to be more condensed, and appeared to have collapsed both of the lungs.....SO she said they had rushed the gun a little with trying to wean him off the oxygen too quickly.  They increased his levels again - and told us he just needs some more time.  We are trying to be patient, but we just want to take our little guy home!

He is completely off the IV though – so it’s awesome to see his little umbilical cord IV free.  We’ll take every small step.  I’ve been able to pump enough so far to fulfill his feedings, so that makes me feel like I’m doing something to help J  He really likes to eat…go figure!  He had his last dosage of antibiotics today too – so hopefully he is pneumonia free now!!  Such a fighter!!

You'll notice in the picture his little tummy looks like it filled in....well he gained 6oz in the past 4 days, but that's not your typical good news.  Basically he has been retaining the fluid he has been given -so they gave him a pill last night to help rid the fluid retention but it didn’t seem to work.  They are measuring this through his urine output; and he didn’t have enough so they are going to try 2 doses of that again today.  So pee Brody pee!!
