Once again our little man was WIDE awake from 11-2am last night….but
each time I went to pump, it was fun to see him all awake. He has such beautiful eyes! I love that he isn’t on the “anti-depressant”
drug anymore…he seems way more calm when he is awake.
He doesn’t really cry or fuss much – just sort of squirms and pumps his
arms and legs all over the place.
Met with another doctor this am – and he told us that Brody
had a good day yesterday, and they are going to continue with the same
today. So he is still on 4 liters – and
typically was around 26% oxygen for most of the day. However, the doctor did tell us we are most
likely going to be here for another couple of weeks. That news was hard to swallow….all we want to
do is have Brody better and home! We
just have to keep reminding ourselves that he won’t remember this, it could be
much worse, and the three of us have so many people who are praying and
supporting us – and that we can make it through this as a family J!
Ross is heading back to work tomorrow – so that he doesn’t have to use
his vacation time until Brody is home with us.
I’m going to spend one last night in the hospital, and then most likely
be here at the hospital all day (from 9am – 11pm); and then sleep at home and
pump enough to cover his night feedings.
Not exactly what Ross and I have been dreaming of, but we have been so
very blessed with this perfect little boy – and we need to stay positive so
that he can have the best care ever when he is home with us!
Today did have some high
points:
*Brody had LOTS of skin to skin time with momma…..this will never get
old – and he just LOVES it!
*Daddy changed his very first diaper…and it was a poopy one!!
*Brody finally got his first BATH!! No more stinky baby. Daddy was awesome – I’ve been calling him Mr.
Mom all day
*We also had Brody’s footprints done….his feet are literally the size
of my index finger. He is going to be
towering over me in no time! You can’t
really tell from the footprints, but Brody has the identical feet to Ross….too
funny! They are both going to be clawing
and picking up stuff with their toes J
