The day Evan saved a life...

We all slept in and then it was time to play outside on this gorgeous Sunday!!!  Dad and Evan headed out ice fishing with their boyscout den (Dad forgot to take pics)…..AND Evan saved his friends LIFE!!!!!  I guess the kids had wandered off and were sledding down the hill and the Dads were all ice fishing in the portable….as Keegan and Evan were walking back to check on the fishermen, Keegan saw an open hole (it was like a 4x4 hole made by someone who had been spear fishing) – whoever had made that big hole had placed a huge branch over it so people knew not to get close, but Keegan saw a dead minnow and laid down on the ice to grab it and FELL IN!!!!!  He luckily grabbed hold of the ice with his arms and Evan calmly walked over to him and pulled him out!!!!!!!!  They came back to the portable and asked how fishing was and the dads asked them why Keegan was soaking wet….they just said “oh he fell in a puddle” so the dads were like “oh ok” until Keegan said he was cold and was like literally dripping water from his head down….Ross asked Evan to show him said puddle and when he got over to the huge hole, he almost lost it.  Both Brian and Ross were a more than a little shaken up…..God was certainly with those boys today!!!!  When they got home and told me what happened, I gave Ross the “look” and Evan saw me and said “I know Mom…but I saved his life”  hahahaha and that you did little Bub!!!  You will forever be Keegan's hero!!!!  I said like 100 hail marys…..

Meanwhile, while all this was going down – B and I had headed out and went cross country skiing at Hyland Park Preserve.  It was GORGEOUS out and was the perfect day!!!

He did great and rocked all the hills even too 😊  So glad I have a buddy to go with me!!!

We got back and jumped in the hot tub till Dad and Evan got home.  B scored about 3 hours of switch time and Maddie was in heaven hahaha

We were eating dinner and B man giggles and says "Mom, her boobs are HUGE.  Did they make them that big to fit all the salt and pepper?"  hahahahaha

WE all cuddled up and watched Back to the Future 3 after dinner and I started working on Maddie’s slideshow – hahahah…..yes, my dog is getting a birthday slideshow of her 1st year 😊

She knows how to relax very well :)

Then we all went to bed early tonight and said many prayers of THANKS for watching over the boys today!!  Had to take a pic of the boys in front of their doors of LOVE!!!  Such a fun tradition 😊

2nd Annual Cortina Frozen Strokes Open

This morning we got up earlier than normal so we could head over to Gpa and Penny’s houses and grab some stuff from them….they are wanting stuff out so they can move next month!  We took Penny’s kitchen table and chairs, so I listed ours and it was sold/picked up within a matter of an hour – meant to be I guess!!!  Windows down and house opened kinda day!!!

Then the boys made our snow golf hole for our tourney this afternoon!!

We cleaned up and got the Valentine’s dΓ©cor put away and St. Paddy’s day stuff out….

….and it was time for the 2nd Annual Frozen Strokes Open with the Neighbors!!!

We had some families out of town, some peeps in quarantine, and some at bball games so not all of us but it was still a blast!!!  Felt good to see everyone again!!!

The kids raced from hole to hole and were done before I think adults even got to hole #2 hahahaha

We have some serious golfers in the hood so we all kept track of our scores (I won't show you mine hahaha)

The kids voted and said our hole was the best, so we got the golf ornament this year!!! SNOW much fun 😊

While our kids rode bikes and scooters in t-shirts 😊, Ross and I hot tubed it and started some cocktials for an early bedtime tonight!!

Since it was so nice out today, we grilled out!  Mads favorite thing – she loves licking all the grilling utensils hahaha

We tucked the boys in bed -- this pup....steals his pillow and gets tucked in :)  Rough life!!

We cuddled up to watch more than 1 episode of Outlander hahaha.  Such a great show!!!  I busted Ross dipping his popcorn in French dressing (he always makes fun of my habit but he totally loves it!!)

Northern Lights Snow Tubing with Rodgers

LAST DAY OR TRAINING!!!  I was done by 12 today and then cranked out so much work I didn’t even stop to eat hahahah.  I refuse to work on the weekends….Ross picked up the boys and turns out B was exposed to positive case of COVID at school on Monday so he has to stay home next week OR can take a test on Monday (day 7 exposure) and with a negative PCR test can go back to school on wed….yippey hahha

Ross took Mads to the vet and they ran a bunch of blood tests etc – they noticed she had swollen nipples and said it wasn’t normal for her behavior to be like it has been…..everything came back normal so they just suggested we switch her food back to puppy food and hope it was either a bad batch of food or maybe she was having a reaction to it?!  So weird….glad it wasn’t something serious but hoping switching her food does the trick!!

Ross made us tuna melts for dinner and then we headed to Buck Hill to meet the Rodgers crew for Northern Lights snow tubing!!!  Ross thought I should skip because of my concussion (or wear a helmet) and I told him he was nuts until we got there and it was shear ice and I jumped over the lane on my tube!!! Hahahahah

It was awesome and so much fun!!!  They wouldn’t let you make chains which stunk so after a handful of rides, us adults grabbed cocktails and stood fireside while the kids all tubed together!!!

Such a blast!!!  Always fun catching up with good friends 😊
