Pneumonia got the last laugh...twice

The day from H-E-double hockey sticks!!!

 

So I started out my morning at Fairview hospital...I hadn't felt baby move since yesterday am, and once again got ZERO sleep from this awful cold.  I was monitored for an hour and baby was ok, but they couldn't get a good heartrate read so I had to have a bio-physical ultrasound.  Thankfully, baby aced the U/S and got an 8/8 (they measure fluid, all babies movements, etc) -- ahhh felt so bad for my little one - they said most likely the stress of the cough / lack of sleep led to little movements from little babe.

Ross and Brody spent their morning at Brody's 2-year-appt and we found out that Brody has pneumonia!  Yeah, I'm serious...poor kid can't catch a break.  He had to have an x-ray too :(  I was feeling sorry that I couldn't be there, but after I heard they had to strap him down - I was sort of glad this prego momma was not there!  The only good thing is Brody isn't really acting sick...he has his lovely cough, but seems to be his normal self - so antibiotics and we go back in Friday.

After my 4 hours at the hospital - I went to urgent care for the next 2.5 hours.  And then I found out - I HAVE PNEUMONIA!  Happy New Years to the Sodahl family :(  The really fun part about getting pneumonia while prego is that you can't really take any drugs - BUT they can't let it get to serious or you have to deliver the baby, SOOO I'm on some over the counter cough drugs (in the hopes I can sleep) & Z-pak!  PLEASE let tonight be a good sleeping night!!

So let's just say the plans we had of going to the cabin for New Years didn't happen...my rents (who are sick themselves...) dropped off dindin and celebratory drinks, so we could still celebrate the fact that icky 2014 is behind us!

I can't say that I'm sad to see 2014 go - it wasn't very nice to this family...however, I wouldn't wish anytime or memories away so "GOOD BYE 2014" - and "HELLO 2015!"  PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring health and happiness!!!!

ICK - this cold is kicking my butt.  I haven't slept in 2 days...hopefully I kick this soon so I can get our house ready for Brody's bday party this weekend :)

Growth Ultrasound

Growth ultrasound today -- and Baby looked great (large but great hehe).  Baby is measuring at about 6lb (so roughly 37 weeks - 3 weeks ahead).  It was so much fun seeing baby move all over the place.  Baby is still breach - technically sideways (head on right side).  No talk of C-section yet, but my doctor did tell me to perhaps wrap my mind around it...basically, if baby gains "normal" weight each week (.5lb/week) - I would have a C-section cause she said I wouldn't be able to deliver a 9lb+ baby :)  AND if baby stays breach - I would have to have a C-section anyways SO here I sit "wrapping my mind around a C-section"  :)

Brody got his bday present from daycare - he was SO excited to open it when we got home!  He kept saying "whooo toys - cool"!  haha

 and the tissue paper was a huge hit too :)

Then it was time for Daddy to open his xmas gift (that finally arrived!) 

Snow Break

B had a ton of fun playing with all his toys again - but Mom was a little depressed today.  Besides catching Brody's cold, we had to take down all our Christmas décor :(  We took a little break to play outside for a bit.

Then it was sledding time with Dad.

Brody was having a blast (seriously laughing so hard as Ross was running) -- until he face planted it in the snow...then he wasn't such a fan!  Whoops!

We came in and warmed up with a little balloon fun!  (probably Brody's favorite gift...the cheap balloons)  :)

and now it's back to work tomorrow :(  At least it's an uber short week!!!  Not ready for my B Man quality time to be over!!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Broden!!!

Happy 2nd Birthday B!!  You are everything to us, and you make each day so much fun and fill our hearts with such happiness!!!  Everyone says "terrible 2s", but Daddy / I LOVE this stage!!  You are just so much fun - you literally bring a smile to our face every single day!

You have developed SO much this past year - it just blows me away!  A couple of words to describe you are:

LOVING - You always come over to give us snuggles; You always say "bless you" after we sneeze;  You ask if "you ok, Mom" if we cough or get hurt; You always give hugs/kisses to make us feel better!

SILLY - You LOVE fun socks!  You show everyone your sock every day (your fav pair is your "fuc" socks - aka fox);  You love to pretend you are sleeping by fake snoring and then have one of us "wake you up" by tickling you; You think it's hilarious to run and hide and then have Mommy/Daddy "get you"; You LOVE to act like animals (monkey, gorilla, and badger are my fav!)

SMART - You have the craziest memory ever!  You remember everything - even if you have only heard us say it / seen once before!; You know all your animals / transportation vehicles; You are crazy good at puzzles (without assistance from your rents); You say full out sentences now and can tell us what you want or why you are crying!

NEVER STOP MOVING - You LOVE to "run fast"; You love to throw high / kick balls!; You love to make Gpa jump (you literally point at the floor and tell him to jump); You literally wouldn't take a nap or go nigh nigh unless we made you -- haha!!

Ahhh it's been the best 2 years of my life, and I can't believe how fast it's gone by...I'm just so completely honored to be your Mom and  spend every day with you.  I'm thankful I can take the time each day to reflect on our day together with this blog...it's so fun to look back at all our fun memories!!!  I look forward to what this year will hold for you, and I can't WAIT to see you become a big brother!!  (However, I'm a little sad that you won't get as much of me as you have up until now...)  Thank you for being you, B man!  I LOVE you to the MOON and BACK!  Happy 2nd Birthday to the best little guy :)

After playing with all your new toys the whole family was exhausted, so we all took a nap :)  Since we didn't have lunch, we had an early dinner / cake when we woke up!  Brody wasn't so sure about us singing Happy Birthday again, but he did help Mom blow out his candle!

Then we headed to Williston for some Birthday fun in the treehouse!!!

and then it was time for fun in the splash pad!!!

By the time we headed home, it was time for our BIRTHDAY tub tub & nigh nigh!!

 

Ahhh such a fun day!!  It was so much fun celebrating as a family, and having 100% of our attention on our little man!!  Man, I just love this kid so much :)  YAY!!  Happy 2nd Birthday Brody!!!
