Apostle Island Ice Caves

Couples trip is here!!!  We went back to where it all started :)

We took today off, dropped B off at daycare/his stuff at rents, and headed to D-town!  We met up with Roses/Johnsons in Superior and had lunch at Anchor Bar; didn't disappoint...cream cheese/jalapeno burger - SO GOOD!  Then we headed to the Apostle Island Ice Caves!  1st time they have been open to foot traffic in 5 years!

We got around 3pm (which happened to be the perfect time!); we were able to park close and didn't have to walk TO the beach.  Even though it was a Friday afternoon - it was still packed!  We were glad we got there when we did cause most people were coming off the lake so the caves weren't totally "tourist littered".

Hiking out -- it was 1.1 miles from the beach to the start of the caves...the guys thought they would take the "shorter" path....they met up back up with us shortly!

They were SO AMAZING!!!!  We spent about 2 hours just exploring and playing around!

I kayaked the caves a couple years ago, so it was so crazy to see them compared from water to ice!

Needed help getting out....

After we had hiked most of the caves - we headed back to the car; and then stopped at a few bars on the way back to our cabin!  We stayed at Larsmont Cottages - they were awesome!  We had a 3 bedroom cabin all to our selves!  Fully stocked kitchen, hot tub, pool, sauna....everything you could ask for!  We hit up the hot tub, ate a late dinner, and played games for the remainder of the night!  Ahhh perfection!!!!

B boy had an equally fun night with Gma/Gpa!  They picked him up at daycare...got to walk around eating his crackers!...and got to push all the buttons and play piano with Gma!  :)  I only called 1x to say good night -- hehe!!
